- CHARACTER INFORMATION
NAME: Nanashi or Trowa Barton
CODENAME: 03 and the Silencer in canon.
SERIES/SOURCE: Gundam Wing
AGE: In-series, he’s roughly 15-16.
GENDER: Male
ROLE: Student, although he could take on a job as a mechanic or teaching industrial mechanics, in particular automotive, to help pay for tuition and board.

BACKGROUND:

Trowa was either abandoned or orphaned as a young child, around the age of one or two years old. There’s a burn scar on his back that he doesn’t remember receiving, at least, and it had to come from somewhere-if he’s from a place with deep superstitions and his power manifested early, perhaps they tried to burn it out with purifying fire. If not, it could just be the result of an unfortunate accident. Either way, he has been on his own from a very young age.

From there, he was adopted by a group of mercenaries and taught mechanics, particularly of vehicles, and how to program or hack into things. He can also handle most firearms, and is proficient in hand-to-hand combat even without his power. However, that group was killed when they were betrayed by another adopted child, Midii Une, who had been taken on as a cook and become something of a friend to him-then known as Nanashi.

A tracker had been planted on Nanashi in the form of a crucifix necklace, which made the people he and the mercenary group had been hired to fight against able to easily find them. Believing that someone else in the group had betrayed them, Nanashi went through with what appears to be either a very impulsive action or a violent reaction to seeming betrayal of his family unit and, in essence, slaughtered them. He was reproached for this by the captain, who was probably the closest thing he had to a father.

From there, he promptly abandoned the group-and Midii, whom he told was dead to him. After that incident, he roamed for a few years, picking up odd jobs here and there, before getting involved in a small armed conflict between two very small nations squabbling over territory. Afterwards, with what he’d learned and seeing the world around him turning against mutants, Nanashi took the name Trowa after a friend of his and decided that it was time to get a formal education and more, controlled training on how to handle his abilities.

PERSONALITY:

For one thing, I think that during the war he was very reserved in terms of emotion. Assuming that he hadn’t repressed the majority of them completely. He’s rather suspicious of new people, having not even trusted the other pilots (including Quatre) for a good amount of time. And his interactions with new people aren’t the best, since people have mindfucked him but good.

Morally, he’s very flexible. Authority is not respected unless they have given him a reason to believe that they deserve his respect. Truth is extremely negotiable, as is mercy, although if there’s no reason to kill somebody he won’t.

Trowa does care (seeing as how he scooped Heero up after Heero self-destructed, despite the fact that without his Gundam Heero really wasn’t much use to them). Again, to some degree. He’s probably at least a little bit suicidal, unconsciously, and possesses a morbid sense of humor.

However, that’s all drawn from the series itself. For this game, I would have to say much the same, but without... stuff. Pfft.

APPEARANCE: He’s a shapeshifter. He could look like a rhino.

Seriously though, his ‘default’ shape and probably the one he was born to look like is a young male of indeterminate descent, about 5’9”, brown-haired, with this big swoopy bang in front that appears to defy gravity and which he may be hiding behind. Physically, he’s built along lean, long lines.

He also weighs approximately 97 pounds in canon, and I am not even joking. That’s canon. Of course, it’s also canon that his height is 5’3”, but…

POWERS: He has the ability to shape any living tissue, including his own, that he comes in contact with. It’s graded, though-he can shapeshift himself very easily, it’s more difficult to shapeshift other people or mammals, plants, and so on until you get to things like fungi. It’s also much easier if he has the other persons’ or the plants’ consent (mainly because with consent they aren’t flailing around trying to get him off).
