Learn how to go from

by using Photoshop CS, however I'm sure that it's translatable to other programs.


You start off with this picture.
Crop, sharpen, etc.
I wound up with this -

I then duplicated it twice, and set both layers on screen at 100%, then I went to Layer - Flatten Image and got this

Looks pretty bad, right? Well, there's still a lot more to do!

I then duplicated that layer. I took the duplicated layer and went to Filter - Blur - Gaussian Blur. A little box should come up that looks like this -

I set mine to 0.5 Pixels, but fiddle around with it until you get a result that you like.

I took that layer and set it to Multiply at 100%, duplicated it, and set it at the same. I then had this -

Then, I went to Layer - New Adjustment Layers - Curves

A little box should come up, this is how I made me curves look, but experiment until you get something you like!








My result was this -

I decided that it needed a bit more, so I went to Layer - New Adjustment Layer - Color Balance

Just like with the curves, no two images are going to look exactly the same, so experiment with it until you get something that you like.






I then decided that I liked the coloring, but it needed a little something extra to give it a bit of a kick. So, I added a light blob -

I set it at Hard Light at 100% -
