Ok... First off, how can it be a collection of short stories and not be an anthology. This may sound stupid of me but I always thought that's what an anthology is. And... dictionary.com says it is too. " A collection of literary pieces, such as poems, short stories, or plays." Anywho, I went through some of my text books and found some books of short stories. I will list them and if they sound somewhat interesting you can borrow/probably have them. I dunno. We should catch up and do lunch or something anyways. = )
1) Collected Stories by Frank O'Connor. (From my Irish Lit, class. It's really big and you're sure to find a few good short stories in there.)
2) Modern Irish Short Stories Edited by Ben Forkner. (Also from my Irish Lit class.)
3) The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer. It's poetry/short stories. I'm not sure if this is acceptable. I mean, they're really short stories written in a poem-like way. Oh hell. You probably can't use this one but I thought I'd put it up there just in case. Oh, and you can't
( ... )
Ooooh. I kind of missed that 2000 or more recent part. I'm not sure why since your post was really short. >_< Oh well. I don't think the others will work for you then since one is an anthology and the other is old. *sigh* I'm sorry. I tried though!
