So, hello world! I knew that I got reallly bad about posting when life got stressful. Now I know that is absolutely true. I am going to try to post a bit more. So to jumpstart things, here's something nice and light

It is SO nice to see a post from you! I'm sorry life is stressful for you, but it seems like it's stressful and magical at the same time (based on posts by your husband and son - el generalito has been rather silent, though).
So I say *stressful*, but what I really mean is *intensely busy*. You are right, things are absolutely amazing right now, in so many regards. I'm just struggling to find balance. For example, how do I find time to enjoy my boys, keep from losing my job (so as not to lose the ability to pay for house), AND sleep?!?! Things are absolutely wonderful, I'm just learning how to balance.
I think the odds of us moving down there are fairly good. We are in the midst of getting our applications in for Fall 08 and Chapel Hill (either Duke or UNC) is our first choice, not only for the schools but because we really like the Chapel Hill area and would be able to afford a house there.
If I get this job at Princeton that I interviewed for last week, however, getting into Princeton won't be an issue at all (assuming it would be were I not employed there). If we get into there, we have agreed we must go. It makes me somewhat wary, as a large part of why I left Penn was to leave the ivy league snobbery, but Princeton is really, really nice. It would also be weird to move back to NJ.
So right now it's pretty much all up in the air, but I'd love to get the hell outta dodge.
Yes, a third (and unplanned) baby. They're thrilled though. Craziness!
Glad the unpacking is going okay. It is slower wih a baby than without. But man is it fun to settle into YOUR house! I love being able to paint, tear things down, talk about converting dining rooms to studies, etc! I have yet to see a single photo of this house. Do you have any?
I think your husband is trying to tell you that he is mentally unbalanced. Just remember the ads on the late night radio shows; when someone close to you tries to admit this, you need to be supportive and offer to buy him new earrings. :P
(I kid you not, they play such dumb commercials around here at midnight)
Wonder what he could do with my bum 'page up' key? (He does not mean Otto.) Now fixing it might not take a genius, but leaving a clever message to show that it was fixed would be genius! But what mother would deny the genius of her offspring? Just consider Little O!
S's gibberish made me giggle. What makes one person type "Every good boy deserves fudge" and another "Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country"?

I share your opinion about S being a genius, and am sure he could do much better!
Oliver is indeed a genius. In the past week he has taught himself: 1. To crawl 2. To stand up in the bathtub (I'm not a fan) 3. To wave -- moving his fingers and not just his arm! 4. To clap! 5. To hunger strike. Oh wait, that's not new.
But seriously, he blows my mind! Just wait until you see him again!
Standing up in the bathtub is very frightening. It continues to be scary. Two days ago, we were late in putting the dude down to bed and something or the other caused him to throw a temper tantrum. Nothing would distract him, so I decided just to put him in the tub and get him ready for bed, even if he was screaming (I knew bed would be the best thing for him). I placed him in the tub, and he immediately stood up, screaming, and started stomping his feet and flailing his arms any time I tried to touch him. I felt sure he would fall and crack his head on the tub.
He didn't, though he did continue to scream and kick for the duration of the bath, while I dried him off, and as I put him in his diaper and jammies. As soon as he was dressed in his jammies and I let him get off the change table, he stood up, stopped crying, grabbed his blankie, and crawled up in the glider for his bedtime story. He was all giggles and cuddles then.
HI HI HI!!!! I've been following your adventures on LJ, sorry to be so nonexistent! We are doing great, just learning how to juggle. Oh, and how to function on suboptimal sleep!
Let's talk soon soon soon! Best time to reach me is during the day in the office. I can't talk long, but could catch up a little at a time while I eat lunch! See, multitasking:) I'll email you the digits.
Yes yes -- I'm in the rather stressed/insanely busy camp as well, not posting all that much either. multitasking is good...do email me your digits. with the time diff and my schedule, generally, best days I could do short chats would be Mon or Fri...

We're fine. Busy and living in one-third chaos (two levels down, worst one still to go), but fine! I love having a house. (o:

Meaning? Sort of mindless, minor shock effect.
