The Texas summer heat wave has finally arrived. Waited until mid-August, but it's here in full swing now. Temperatures have been over 100 deg. F for several days, if not a week. Hello from the "mural capital" of Texas. Funny claim to fame for Breckenridge. The murals, imho, are not much to look at, and are a far cry from museum worthy art. Chimney swifts have taken up residence in our chimney. A swallow-like bird that apparently has more in common with the humming bird than the swallow itself. What started out with a mild twitter several weeks ago has erupted into an endless quarterly hourly cacophony as the young beckon for or respond to feedings. I'm awake after falling asleep after eating four slice of left-over pizza. Fell asleep on the couch then moved to the bedroom after the phone rang a bunch (probably only twice), and Ivo was starting to bother me. Well, the Lion's Club gig went rather well. Only mistake was during "If I Only Had A Brain." In the third verse, the Lion's part, I managed to bungle the lyrics, combining the second half of the second verse with the first half of the first verse.
