The kids from the hospital came in every Tuesday at 2, and at first, Ryan would sit down with them for Story Time and read whatever they pulled off of the picture books shelves - Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, The Cat Who Knew Too Much - but Ryan was incapable of reading in anything other than a monotone, and the kids would quickly begin to fidget, and then start to poke at each other or just start pulling things off the shelves at random, and Ryan would just shrug and let the kids loose on the little plywood puppet set up they had in the back of the children's section while he ran and hid in the stacks. Ryan wasn't the best with kids, but he really knew his children's literature ( ... )

The Wump World! Book drop crisis! Ahahahaha!
After Story Hour was over, the kids had a little free time before Frank had to take the van back to the hospital. Frank let himself be led around by the hand by one particularly determined girl who wanted him to help her find her favorite books. Gerard stood around awkwardly for a few moments, trying to look helpful, but Frank seemed to know his way around the shelves pretty well. Finally, Gerard cleared his throat and said, "Well, uh, I gotta..." and pointed vaguely back toward his own section across the library.
Frank looked up, momentarily distracted from the hunt for Frog and Toad, and smiled. "Okay, I think I know where to find you if I need you ( ... )
