I have been collecting books for decades, but it has only been recently that I started to write down what I had. That started after I joined Goodreads several years ago. The cataloging began in earnest in January, and right now I am up to almost 400 titles. I am concentrating on my history collection, and haven't got to the rest of the non-fiction ( Read more... )

I collect books on eclectic subjects - I prefer female scifi writers, conan doyle, Lord darcy, pagan/wicken/elder magics.

I also have a large interest in medical cunundrums... genetics, medical mysteries, psycology/psyciatry,

I also like learning about 'primitave' crafts - before mechanization.. spinning, shoemaking, weaving, dyeing,

I also have a small collection of car repair manuals..

Cool! I haven't met many people who have the Lord Darcy books. Somewhere I have the Gandalara (?) series that Garrett started before his untimely demise. Most of my sci-fi collection is by male authors. The so-called "primitive craft" stuff may be very useful.

As annoying as cataloging the books on Goodreads can be, I am glad that I am doing it. If the book has an ISBN, there is almost always an entry for it! Most older books are there as well.
