We put language in zoos to observe caged thought ...

I really like that line. And by caging our thought we are limiting it and that is what language is, numbers, words; and to get those symbols and notations confused with the real thing is idolatry. We often make that mistake which is why we view the world through a grid rather than as on inseperable whole which it is.

Vey interesting poem there ;)

Language really is extremely limiting

Those are saul williams words though, not mine, just to be clear. He's great at playing with words in his poetry.

I mean when I say that I'm not implying that art is any less limited, it's all very limited forms of communication especially when you take into account who's doing the communicating; there's a spectrum of communication efficiancy.

Perhaps a great artist or a great speaker can reach really high in the efficancy of communication whereas on the contrary someone who is illiterate may be on quite the opposite end of the spectrum. Both are inevitably limited because what one word may mean to you may mean entirely something else to someone else. Now art and language together, that is more efficiant then either one is alone.

Good poem
