I bought a ball winder today. It rocks, ROCKS I tell you.

For those that don't know what that is, it's a simple little thing really, and it turns one of these

No swift. Jeremy would have freaked out.

One of the boths at the Waterloo Region Knitters Fair had the winders for half the price of anyone else. I had too.

How long does it take to wind a skein? I want one, but I can hand-wind a skein into a centre-pull ball without a problem (using a toilet roll tube) - it's just time-consuming. If the winder isn't much faster it probably wouldn't be worth it.

Well, I didn't wind from a skein last night, I wound from a ball (I ripped out a sock I didn't like). But it was super quick. And fun.
