I haven't posted anything in quite a while. I just haven't had much interesting to say. So now I will write an entry with some substance that might be very interesting or might be offensive ( Read more... )

Wow, I had no idea you had a boyfriend! *hug* I'm really happy for you ♥
(Counting back the weeks, I guess I was away when this happened aha)

Huh, I see what you mean about not being PC there...! To be honest "PC" really annoys me because we have to pretend our opinion is something it isn't. What happened to the freedom of speech? What if we're talking about someone we genuinely hate because of their personality not because of any other factors? If they're black for instance must we be nice just because of their race (surely that's reverse racism :S)?
My thoughts: people who write smut and particularly those who seriously enjoy it and crave it are... well, what the hell are they doing reading porn anyway. I hate it when people ruin a perfectly good story because they have to write sex into it. Just because they can't get some in real life does not excuse craving 2D characters. I have never understood the calling for smut. Everyone I know seems to enjoy reading it and I just don't get it at all ;; For a long time I thought I was ( ... )

I do not have a problem with smut for wanking purposes. But that is what it is. It is porn for women. Some people take it way too seriously. And it is cool with me if you hate it.

I read this with glee... or happiness or both! I enjoy PC-free articles and speeches. I heard a speech by von Weizsäcker last week and it was just so awesome and un-PC (and he's an awesome politician, we need more guys like him, desparately!)

Besides, I'm not asexual. Or ftom (what does that even mean?) transexual . Just wanted to mention that.

I don't see why we even need to call it un-PC. Honest is what it really is. I even think it would do more good to have these feelings out in the open and try to figure out why we think and feel them if they are problematic or hurtful, rather than pretend we don't think and feel them.

Or maybe we would all rip each others throats out... so... I don't know. I mean, the things you wrote about in your entry, those are trivial matters, no-one would really be offended by them. But isn't it a little different when it comes to politics? We can't sacrifice lives just because we want to be outspoken. Sometimes hundreds of lives hang on the thread of just some words. Speak without thinking and they might die.

Also, if you use heteronormative as a criticism of the Harry Potter books, I assume you are some butthurt Sirius/Remus shipper who somehow actually thought it was being written in the books.

wow, there are people who use that criticism?

mmm, cake.

The fact that all the main characters wound up in heterosexual marriages really offended some people. I even saw people make the criticism that JKR was homophobic to make Dumbledore gay because he is old and seems non-sexual at this point. They felt it should have been someone young. That is so clearly just slasher disappointment.

The cake turned out great!
