Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes

Today was a good day. I made some command decisions regarding my education and my future. Firstly, I decided for sure what kind of librarian I intend to be. Well, I have been thinking about it for a long time, actually, but today I took the necessary actions to put me on the right track. I changed my specialization from General to School Library ( Read more... )

This is great news, Mochi. =) It's so much better when things are clear, isn't it? It's great that your schedule is manageable too. =) Are you looking to get a car eventually to help your commute?

All in all, it really sounds like you're doing well. =)

I have a car that I am still paying for, actually. I might explore the option of driving instead of taking the metro, but driving on the Beltway kind of terrifies me. I am very hopeful regarding my new arrangements. I was so worried people would judge me and think I was lazy for being a part-time student, but everyone has been so supportive so far. And I think I am much less likely to lose my mind. Thanks for the encouragement, dear! I am going to do my very best!

Beltway driving = Yuck. Especially with all that construction.

Why do you want to do middle school?? x_X

Middle school students are just getting into young adult and adult literature and it is a time when they decide they either love or hate reading and the library. Their tastes are developing, their research assignments are getting a bit more complex (the start having to include bibliographies) but not too hard. I think it is just an interesting age of readers and the stuff they are reading is pretty darn cool.

The Beltway is definitely not my thing. My sister makes fun of me because I never go on it. And I mean never.

It is quite wonderful indeed. Also, realizing that I am not going to be buried up to my eyeballs in readings each week. Yeah, it does make me wonder if I am lazy, but I have other duties besides just school.
