This year has been the year of bad news. I have gotten more bad news this year than ever before in my entire life. Today, reality slapped me in the face...hard. You hear stories and you brush them off. If you have sex with multiple people eventually you will get an STD...yeah whatever...that won't happen to me or anyone I know. Well about 2 1/2

I'm sorry that you are hurting. This is the type of thing that I wish I could protect you from. Unfortunately the reality is that bad things happen to good people too. Having sex is a big decision that I feel many people your age jump into without really considering the consequences. Pregnancy isn't the only risk and I think that many teenagers forget about STD's. The harsh truth is you only have to have sex one time in order to end up in such a horrible position. I hope that from this experience you will gain some wisdom when it comes to decisions about your own body. Learn from your friend's unfortunate mistake and think about the effect that each of your decisions has on your life. I encourage you to pass your new found wisdom on to your other friends so that they will not have to live with a life changing disease as your young friend will.
