you're close. it was usually you, krista, dad, and me. sometimes laszlo and/or endre would be with us, too. what i remember most clearly: there was this huge pool that was closed off with a big, metal fence and a rusty old gate. the pool looked like kids had thrown bowling balls into it for fun. we would talk about how cool it would be to swim in that pool while we waited for the ballet to end, rather than walking around new york. sometimes we would race dad to a stop sign or something.

Yeah, I remember us always switching who went to the ballet and who walked around, since we only had two tickets. 'Cause remember whenever one of us went to the ballet with dad and he'd race us down that really long, circular staircase? When we walked around in New York I just remember being near that park that was right near ABT, and remember when we went to that huge Barnes and Noble and Air got that backpack that said, "I love my books." :D

$18 for that backpack! I never paid Dad back and I told him I would.
I wore it to school on the first day of second grade and was made fun of, so it hid in the closet for the next eight years, but now it's happy again.
