i'm telling you, dude. stumptown coffee on belmont. respectable bagels. i mean, they have that sort of glossy "i've been boiled" texture and the bagel taste, and some nice big holes in the middle. not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but SO much better than anything else i've had in portland.

yeah, but i can't just like, go in there and get a half dozen everything bagels, a half dozen plain and walk out. they'd be all "what did the scenester say to the other scenester?" and i'd say "what?" and they'd be all "*scoff* you don't know?"
only this time it wouldn't be matt telling a funny and slightly ironic joke, it would be like for serious that they were asking me this and scoffing at me.

bottom line is, i need to learn how to make my own bagels.
