"Can you open your eyes?"

Wind. Searing pain. Crimson dripping down his face. Surf chilling his bones...

"Can you hear me? Can you open your eyes for me?"

Sweet voice, silk hand across his face, sleep claims him once more...

Oliver's eyes slowly peek open, hues of warm reds and oranges flooding his vision. He can't see much...a dark ( Read more... )

Well thank you! As far as a sequel goes I'm not so sure. I intended for this to be a one-parter, but who knows! I'll keep stringing out carrots for the plot-bunnies to see if they'll bite. :)

I'm so glad you liked it. Being a fan of yours, it's an honor!

If you want more, I suggest you help me sting out those carrots for the plot-bunnies. Thesis and RL school work are taking up too much of my time! Definitely re-thinking this whole 'only a one-parter' business. Didn't think there'd be such interest!

Once again, thanks for the lovely comment!

Yeah, but see, if you're going to introduce TWO intriguing new characters, you're in for it. You can't just let 'em hang there, right? So Ava has to do something to outrage her father; Oliver has to be slowly but surely seduced into piracy; and of course they have to get together. Behind everyone's back. Maybe that's what outrages Jack. And Lizzie has to come back. Please? Could Lizzie be related to Oliver??

I guess it was a bit of a tease to let you meet them and then not fully get to know them, huh? Well the bunnies have been nipping a bit at my ankles, so we'll see where it goes once my life settles a bit! :)

And Lizzie be related to Oliver? That might be tricky then if you want Oliver to be with Ava. Guess I should have made it clearer why Teague calls Ava 'princess.' ;)

Sometimes exploring canon characters through the eyes of OC's works wonderfully well, and this is a very good example of that. This was so enjoyable, I do hope you will favor us with more!

Wow, thanks! I'm so glad you enjoyed reading about my OC's. It can be very, very difficult to keep regular readers of fanfiction in a particular fandom to accept OC's (given there is a sizeable portion of them who exist as a sort of means for the author to act out his/her personal fantasies with the characters haha!) so I'm really happy that you liked getting to know Ava and Oliver.

I'd love to write more, but unfortunately, the plot bunnies for this one haven't been biting so much. I had originally intended for this to be a one parter, as kind of my take on what could have happened to Jack and Elizabeth much later down the line, in keeping with canon (William III exists, etc.) told through the eyes of their offspring. To show the contrast between the legend and the truth. But whoooooo knows. I may graduate from uni and all of a sudden have several plot bunnies jump out from behind the podium as I collect my diploma, haha!

Thanks again for reading and your lovely comment. I truly appreciate it!
