Being back in the real world after Arkham is a relief, of course. Bruce never liked the feeling of being confined back there, on top of all the other shit that got heaped on them. Weirdly though, sometimes he finds he misses the insular nature of that place. The real world is big and wide, and it's easy for him to get lost -- which is good and bad ( Read more... )

Visiting, hiding, avoiding her fae-family, same thing. It had been hard being back home, finally seeing everyone again after months of death and horror, only to be told that she'd never left and everyone thought she was crazy. She'd gotten sick of the patronizing responses and all the subtle hints about her getting a psych evaluation done at the Ash's compound. They didn't believe her, and eventually she'd just stopped arguing ( ... )

"Technically it isn't mine. That one's SHIELD's." In other words, he doesn't really care one way or another if it's busted. Whoops. Sorry, SHIELD. Well, he's genuinely sorry to Phil, but the rest of SHIELD can shove it. Especially his security detail. Oh they pretty much keep to themselves, but they're ready in case of an emergency, and SHIELD likes to pretend like they're totally cool with the big guy. Whatever, Fury. Bruce really doesn't appreciate it all that much. He probably wouldn't even be here if it weren't for Tony. He'd rather be in India, or somewhere, being a doctor again.

But hey, no room for bitterness. Not when Kenzi's visiting and maybe breaking SHIELD's stuff.

"You're such a master assassin. Have you asked Fury for an application yet? There's probably an open spot. You could totally be the official person who breaks things. The other guy wouldn't mind losing his job."

She pushes herself up and sits on a table, poking at more potentially-expensive and probably-breakable stuff as she folds her legs up in front of her. Comfy.

"Who, eye-patch guy? Nah. He freaks me out. Don't exactly know if I should look at the patch or the eye--" Oh hey, what's this thing? Complicated, iPad-type thing? Sweet. Maybe it's got tetris... or solitaire! Messing around with it now. "Besides, Phil might have been cool with me knowing super secret SHIELD info, but I'm sensing explain why I know that shit to eye-patch guy is not going to be a fun conversation."

The second she said Loki's name, they'd probably lock her up or something. She doesn't do well in places that don't have an easily accessible exit.

"I can just freelance break their shit. UNofficial person who breaks things. I like that waaaaaay better." She flashes a huge smile at Bruce. He could just keep her being her doctor, she was bound to get hurt sooner or later.
