I haven't posted in so long that I have no idea where to begin.
The trip was even better than I had hoped. Day 1: Adam and I got there around 11pm on the 18th. We got a ride in a mini-van with a Bin Laden look-a-like, who seemed to be jerking us around in the beginning. But Adam spoke-up and put us in control of the situation and soon enough we got to our hotel. We stayed at the Marriott in Times Square. Nice big plasma, king sized bed loaded with fluffy down pillows, the view out our window sucked but that didn't bother us. We unloaded all our bags and headed right back out to wander the streets. We walked through times square, got some Sabrett's from one of the street vender's, and wandered the streets for a few hours. We got back to the hotel around 3am and hung out the rest of the night.
Day 2: We decided to go down to lower Manhattan. Since we're both to stupid and lazy to figure out the subway system we decided to walk. Mind you we were about 45-50 blocks away from our destination. But we enjoyed the walk, we ducked into a few stores here and there to shop and warm up. It was really cold. We walked up and down Canal Street bargaining with the chinese people. lol. Got the big bottle of Dolce & Gabanna Light Blue perfume for $27 (normally about $80 at stores). So that was sweet. Then we traveled into my roots, walking through the streets of Little Italy. They had it all decorated for Christmas, it was awesome. We ate lunch at Novella, great food. Then we made our way down to ground zero, that was sad and then Battery Park. We decided to take the subway the rest of the way. We asked the guy where to get off, got our tickets and hopped on. Turns out we must have gone up the wrong entrance to the streets and we put ourselves even further behind, so we walked the rest of the way. It was around sunset so we got some nice pictures with the Statue of Liberty in the background. We took a taxi back to the hotel and took a nap. Adam's mom and her husband were in Manhattan the same time we were, so they called us up and told us to meet them at Sparks restaurant. We managed to get a cab and arrived at this jam-packed steak restaurant. The steaks were awesome. $40 a piece, but I ate the whole 16oz steak and cleaned my plate. Then Rick had the idea of going to Scores. I had never heard of it but I guess its a strip club that Howard Stern frequents. So we piled into an Escalade and got VIP'd into Scores. Thanks to a good deal of cash Rick gave the guy at Sparks. So that was a weird experience. My first time in a titty bar, under-age, drinking beers, with my boyfriend, his mom and her husband. We got a few laughs out of it though. We headed back to the hotel and hung out there.
Day 3: We woke up to a NYC transit strike. If you didn't hear about it on the news, all NYC subway and bus workers went on strike so the only way around the city was by foot, taxi, or car. So we decided to stay a little closer to our hotel today, or so we thought. We walked another 30 blocks or so to upper manhattan, we stopped in the Museum of Modern Art store which had all sorts of cool stuff, then we walked to Central Park. We went on a 20 minute horse and carriage ride through the park, then we went to the Central Park Zoo. Then we started our journey back toward the hotel. We stopped in more stores and eventually ended up in Rockefeller Center at the big tree. We took lots of pictures, it was gorgeous. Then we decided to go to a place I had seen on the Food Network, Dylan's Candystore. But it was like 20-something blocks back toward Central Park. So instead of walking we took this bike-carriage thing. Picture one of those enclosed carriages that parents attach to the back of their bikes to bring kids for a ride, well this this was similar only adult-sized. This was definitely the high-light of the trip. This guys was nuts, weaving in and out of cars during rush hour. We could have reached out and touched the cars. At traffic jams he would cut between the cars and they would pull their mirrors in to let us by. It was nuts. Adam got some of it on video with his cell-phone, but even that does no justice for the craziness of this ride. He got us there pretty damn quick, and kudos to him for having strong us legs to haul our fat asses like that. haha. Then we got a taxi back, went to the biggest Olive Garden I've even seen. It had a freakin' escalator, craziness. Then we walked back to our room to watch Nip Tuck. We had time to kill so I broke out the long-awaited lingerie. Good stuff. haha. Then we walked around outside a little more, and came back to the hotel.
Day 4: Our last day, we packed up our stuff checked out and had the hotel hold our luggage for the day. We walked around some more, but had to cut the day short because we needed to get to the airport before rush hour and with the strike in effect taxi's were hard to come by. So we got to the airport really early and hung out. It's a huge terminal though, so time went by fast. I have to say this was the best vacation I've ever taken. And there's no other person in the world I would have rather gone with. Adam and I had so much fun together and it was so nice to have just the two of us away from everyone, in such a big city. I can honestly picture myself with him for years and years to come. We even walked through the Diamond District and picked up a business card or two. :o)
Before Christmas: I did a room-makeover for Adam, because he always says his townhouse doesn't feel homey because its unfinished. So two days before Christmas my mom and I did a make-over. We painted an accent wall, rearranged his furniture, added a few pieces, bought some new stuff. And needless to say made it look a hell of a lot better. But I didn't stop at the room. I also set up my own little surprise for him once my mom left. I bought his several things from Seductions and individually wrapped each one and wrote naughty little sayings on them. Then I put one on every other step going up the stairs and put rose petals from the front door up the stairs and into his room. I had a huge bow on his bedroom door and when he opened it I was standing there in a little Mrs. Clause outfit that I had made the night before. He loved it. All of it, and I was so happy to see him smile. And the fact that I had put so much effort into it really made me feel good and made him 10 times more appreciative. And I was afraid what he had gotten me for Christmas was going to be something more serious, but his present tied right into the whole rose petals leading into the room kinda-theme so it worked out perfectly and I absolutely love what he got me.
Christmas: It was pretty hectic for us, we had 3 different families to visit, his dad in Orlando, his mom in Ft. Myers, and my parents in Cape Coral. So we decided to go to Orlando for Christmas Eve. We left my house around 6:30pm because he had to work during the day. We got up there in record time (he scares me on the highway). I met his brother and sister and a few other people. His brother is hilarious, his sister is more of a Paris Hilton-wanna-be. As he calls her. lol. But they're all good people. We drank a lot and got to bed around 3am with the alarm set for 5am. I got up and struggled to wake him up and we hit the road half-asleep with hangovers from hell. We made it to Fort Myers by 8:30 but took a detour to Adams house because we had one more Christmas present for each other... and good... god... it was the best Christmas present I think either of us had ever gotten. Like-Super-Super-Sayan!! We didn't even park the car he drove up on the grass in front of the house and we ran to his room. Afterward both of us got back in the car weak-kneed and overly-relaxed and went to his moms house. We opened presents there and hung out until 11:30. They gave us some cool stuff and Nana got me a lot! We gave them stuff too though. Then we went to my house to be bombarded with like 10 people. Again we were running on no sleep and the hang over's had come back. But we opened presents and then Adam went in my room to lay down. He started feeling sick and by the end of the night had a full-blown cold. I felt so bad I was trying to spend time with him and my family, because he didn't even have the energy to get out of bed. But I managed to swing both and the next morning we both woke up sick as hell. But we stayed in bed most of the day and cuddled. It was such a good Christmas.
New Years: I'm actually excited about New Years. I can finally have a good night and not cry over Todd. Thank the Lord! I'm so glad I have Adam. I never thought I would fall in love with anyone else after Todd, but now that I'm with Adam my feelings for him have surpassed any feeling I ever had for Todd 10-fold! We are so happy when we're together and we miss each other when we're apart. Thats why the New York trip was such a treat because we got to be with each other for almost four days straight. He makes me so happy when I'm with him. Even my parents love him because they see how happy he makes me. I hate bragging, but I think I've earned the right considering all the shit I went through last year. Life is good right now and for many years to come as long as I'm with Adam. 2009?? ...Can't wait baby! I love you!
