He can’t be more than eighteen or nineteen, Reno thinks. Takes in the tangle of black hair, the olive skin, the grey eyes, stoned and sarcastic. Sesklo is grimy under a phthalo blue dress jacket that Reno thinks might be dupioni silk. Its sleeves are pushed up to the elbows. There’s a lit cigarette in his hand. Hacker, Reno thinks, not sure why he’s sure.
Sesklo is kicked back from the battered round table, watchful behind the smoke.
“Whoa ho, it’s Old Sharp Threads,” he says. Tseng, Reno notes, just got caught by this kid in the process of flicking lint off his lapel, but he seems to absorb the name, neither receiving nor inflicting damage.
The Turk is observing the jacket in question; it's bluer--and weirder--than the Blue Suit (Excerpt above, in my reply to Naga - it's from "Answer Man.")
What, in your opinion, is The Blue Suit made of? Wool gabardine? And what is that color, exactly? The game punches it up - I guess so you can see the Turks better...
Maybe a true navy blue? I have a Navy pea coat (literally, from the Navy) that is Navy blue. And that blue reads black in all but the strongest light...
Interesting question-- I've actually never thought about that, myself. Though I could only imagine the conundrum I'd encounter if I started to research variations in men's suits (like I said... research can equal stagnant indecision for me... aagh).
As for the color, I've wondered about that, considering the change to straight-up black in Advent Children, and I believe it's black in the BC and CC games, as well(?). Interesting that you mention the true Navy blue reading as black. My boyfriend had actually speculated, regarding the blue suits, that they probably are supposed to be black and, like you said, just kicked up in color for the game, or just represented as blue (he made the interesting comparison that in a lot of anime, characters with black hair are often depicted with their hair as having a sort of blue tinge so as to accentuate the color... well... we think). But in the original concept art for the Turks, it's definitely blue. What precise shade you'd call it, I'm not sure. But I know in my headcanon they're still blue,

I'm starting to think that I'll only achieve my goal by omitting any reference to blueness.
Yeah, this is for "Answer Man."
