The possibilities, they are so many.

And imagine all the OTHER dossiers Tseng has hanging around.

Every time you write a single sentence that comes out of Rude's mouth, I get all fangirly.

Also, it's amazing how much of a scene you can paint with so few words.

Thank you - ! Actually, Rude is surprising the hell out of me.

I'm glad the scene feels coherent. I aspire to that kind of thing, where you get the picture without too many details. (Which is weird, because I love fiddly details. Have I ranted about Mme Bovary's wedding cake yet?)

Rude IS smart. I think he may be the most, for lack of a better word, scholarly of the Turks in my universe. Tseng's knowledge base is political, meaning it serves a pragmatic purpose for the most part; Reno's is intuitive. Elena has a granular knowledge of rules and roles. Rude, on the other hand, seems interested in understanding the world in deep time. I think he's a macroeconomics geek.

Yes, it would make a significant difference if Phrike were a Leviathan-type creature from the deep or, say, a deranged teenaged girl cyber-stalking Tseng.

THIS

a deranged teenaged girl cyber-stalking Tseng.

is just begging to be written. Oh, I can see it now... Tseng receiving obsessive, mis-spelled emails of dubious intent from someone known only as "xXxPhRiKeGuRlxXx".....

Although, considering what's available on sunken Shinra ships...

I can think of lots of reasons why Shinra might do that. XD Maybe Rufus is hiring.
