The Eng­lish Club vis­ited Amis­sos on a cool Novem­ber after­noon. The the win­try sun­light was fad­ing fast, and slid golden over the twin tumuli atop the hill above the old har­bor, slowly fad­ing to twi­light blues as it sank behind the coastal moun­tains. I took a look at some of the photos, and the one at the head of the entry is stunning. I have to wonder exactly how old these two structures are, and what a full excavation would unearth - literally - as it is quite possible they are far older than Hellenic Greek.

Cool pictures, I'm glad you're getting out and about places. I'm sure the whole area has a lot of interesting history. Any connections with the landwights at all?
