And the blowing of the cold air out of the vents until the heat happens, and the scraping of snow and/or ice off of the windshield and any other convenient pieces of glass...

There are few things sillier than standing outside holding a hairdryer that's plugged into the extension cord meant for the engine block heater.

If I still lived in Alaska, I would have to man up and buy a hairdryer just for that.
