I read her entry. Its very extreme and your ideas seem to be at almost the opposite extreme. I think I am somewhat in the middle. But I do admire the way you posed your argument; I think it was quite eloquently done. <3

Hey, thank you so much, I really apreciate your comment. You know, I think part of my problem is that I didn't express that I do believe woman have been put down by society. I think I focused too much on that I think they're trying too hard to prove society wrong. my main issue is that it seems women want to be someone who they aren't. I have the highest admiration for women who have high goals, but as long as the goals are truely within their reach. I mean, I wouldn't make a goal to be the world's heaviest man... I haven't been chubby since I was 5. We all have to work within our limits... and become the people we want to be!

Hey! I think you might find that it's not so much your statement that in general women aren't as strong as men( which is true so far as I'm concerned)that has everyone upset. It's the housework thing, because despite what you were "trying" to say, it sounded like that's all you think we're good for (ie. not intelligent or ambitious enough for anything more)I'm sure that if people just calmed down and read your comment carefully, they'd see that that wasn't your intent.

You make a very good pint, but she was the one who brough up housekeeping, not I, so I commented on what she had said. Women actually are very good at that sort of thing where us men are lacking... in most cases.

hehe, indeed! People may not like it but look around you, it's true. But only if we are speaking in generalities, so no-one take personal offense. In a perfect world we'd be equal in everything. This world is far from perfect.

Yeah, I don't know what the big deal is with this whole issue... we all have opinions anyway, and we shouldn't stop being friends because of stuff like that.

I respect your right to have an opinion... personally, I think you're wrong, but that's just me. I went over and added my two cents to the conversation, so I'm done ranting. I'm still going to read your entries ( ... )

Well, first of all, I'm not American and I don't live there, so I wasn't basing my comment (women being a minority) on that. And secondly, how do you know I haven't been affected by sexism? Sexism is still a major force in society. Just because you don't see it everyday doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I have had people tell me I can't do certain things because I'm female. And even if I hadn't had these experiences, I would still be required to do something about sexism. I'm a woman, and I care about other women, and our role in society. Just because I haven't been directly affected is no reason not to get involved. To use a broad analogy -- I'm not homeless, but I volunteer at a homeless shelter. Do you see what I'm saying?

Also... eventually women are going to do to men what men used to do to women. Firstly, I don't think that's going to happen, and secondly, did I say anywhere in my comment that I wanted people to suffer? Did I say I thought that was fair? No, I did not. I want equality. That's all women want, is TOTAL AND COMPLETE ( ... )

Well there is too much to a standpoint on a subject like this to write about quickly... it requires more deep conversation to really understand anyone's views. So maybe that's part of what people aren't on either one side per se.
