Just the sight of her galls him.

He wants to be gone already, home to where it is blessedly Mudblood free. He wants to be off to France with his mother or at the Quidditch World Cup with his father. He wants to be anywhere but here: on this ridiculously slow train with nothing better to do than to watch Know-it-all Granger wobble down the swaying corridor on her way back to her compartment.

She has changed her clothes, the ubiquitous Hogwarts robes folded with her usual precision, no doubt, and tucked into the bag she carries. He supposes that as she joins her Muggle parents, and goes to her Muggle home in her Muggle neighborhood, witch robes would be too conspicuous. Instead, she wears a purple dress, tied at each shoulder with a little bow. He can see her knees, and her toes in her strappy shoes, and he's angry for reasons he can't put into words by the slight bump of her ankle bone.

Her horrible, thistly hair is pulled away from her face by a dark purple band, but he doesn't enjoy this rare unobstructed view of her dark eyes because she seems to look right through him as she passes his door. He continues to stare at her, though-stares hard-at the the small of her back, hoping she feels the weight of his eyes and that she is as bothered as he is.

It irritates him to see her. But he can't stop looking.
