I would have to disagree, just 'cause I HATED mid/late '70s mellow stuff. I wasn't a disco bunny, either, so I never found happiness until punk and new wave was invented. :b

The number one song when I was born (and #2 for the year) was Pat Boone, "Love Letters in the Sand." Not EVEN going to look that one up. Hah!

#1 for the year was "All Shook Up" by Elvis Presley. Whew!

I dodged a bullet, I did: had I been born a few weeks earlier the #1 hit was ALSO Pat Boone, singing "Moody River" (which I don't know, and am disinclined to search for). :b

Oh man, on the U.S. list, mine was Vaya Con Dios and in the U.K. it was I Believe. I'm not even gonna tell you what year that was...
