To be fair, we've had a fairly mild summer so far.

It's God's way of saying "LOL, j/k!!!!11111 urth=st00p1d"

89 at night is unheard of for Vermont.
I think it finally dropped down to 76 somewhere around 3 am.
Its just unnerving, to see a map of the whole US sweltering in unison..

True (and yes, it has been very humid as well), and it was definitely in the lower 90's all through last night here. Not fun when you don't even have a fan, but it'll have to do. I fear having to pay lots of money for electricity this summer. I can't afford it!

107 in northern California. They must be DYING out there.

Over 100 temps scare me.
People can't walk their dogs,
plants die within an afternoon,
asphalt bubbles and melts
(ah, fond memories of my childhood in Waterbury, hot tar scalding my bare feet.. my slip and slide melting in the sun).
Its madness.

Tell me about it.
We finally put the a/c on last night,
and today mom's driving because she has
too much to carry on her bike.

Thank you for this convincing-and alarming-evidence.

It is alarming!
I can't believe that there are still people who don't believe in global warming being their own faults!!
All you have to do is look at a weather chart to know that things are getting worse.

*sigh* /rant

What struck me most about this is the 96-93-92 down from New York to Washington; I would expect that area to be cooler than its surroundings, given the ocean and time of day.

Not with that megalopolis sitting there...

This is the time of year that fish wash up dead from bacteria blooms along the east coast (sometimes as north as Connecticut).
Red tides and toxic tides..
scary.
