Well, you could probably do better building a pure gaming laptop, but i work there so i'll still pimp the MacBook Pro. The new one has an NVIDIA 9600M GT video card in it. We could put bootcamp or crossover pro on it and you could switch to windows for playing games and use mac os for non-gaming activity.

With your excellent connections, you can get it for less than your price target too.

ok, i'll stop now.

my boyfriend originally wanted Alienware for gaming (it's about $3000) but after seeing the new Mac, wants that one now.

yeah... i configured an alienware on their website for $2499, which isn't completely out of my price range. i was just hoping for something cheaper. a comparable mac book pro will run $50 more than that. i just don't want to have to reboot to play games, or run a dual OS, or use wine. because, y'know, i'm lazy.

how does he feel about sager? i comparably configged one of those on their website for $1864, which is a compelling price. i'm curious about people's experiences, though, as well as what machines they're building or have built.

I'd also pimp a MacBook Pro - those machines are SWEET. And if you install VMWare fusion, you can run Windows games without rebooting or anything else ( ... )
