So I've been thinking about making a personal order from Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab for a while, but I was always held back by the $12 shipping to Canada for up to 20 items, considering that I would never personally be able to order enough items to get the best possible value out of shipping. Have you thought about going on one of the BPAL trading communities and looking around for other locals? I haven't actually gotten any of my stuff from BPAL directly. I got it all from a bunch of LJ communities that are basically all about trading and selling the stuff that people get and realize they don't really like it when they smell it. Also, I highly recommend Tombstone. It's my favorite. I just feel like it's necessary to mention that whenever BPAL comes up, because I'm still using Tombstone imps. I should just, you know, buy a full-size bottle.

I had considered it. There's the Bpal Canada community, for one, but I think I mostly just wanted to do this with people I actually knew, for convenience's sake.

I've been doing a lot of trading on the official Bpal forum, where people do wild and crazy things like send stuff off to other people just because. I would strongly recommend checking them out, they're full of lots of fun people.

And thanks for the recommendation. Tombstone does have some interesting notes, though I don't like vanilla much.

Incidentally, if you happen to be interested, I'm unloading a bunch of my unwanted imps here. I know you've been in some financially snug circumstances, so I would be happy to send you a few things from there if anything strikes your fancy - no strings attached. :)

This is interesting because I was just recently thinking about how long it had been since I had gotten anything new from BPAL, and then you make this post. And yeah, if you don't care for vanilla, maybe Tombstone isn't for you. The vanilla is actually not the most dominant scent out of the bottle but once you've been wearing it for a while it's the most lasting one. Bordello is kind of similar in spirit though with different scents. I gave that one to my mom, though. I don't know why I associate them. Maybe I just think of bordellos in Tombstone. I don't know. Anyway you really know how to cheer a girl up, offering her BPAL. It's so great of you to offer! I might take you up on it. (How's Dracul? I like Nosferatu...and uh, realistically, they're kind of based on the same person...? I dunno. It's weird because when I first got it I didn't care for it, but now I like it more. It goes well with Chilling Cellar

Dracul is quite pleasant. It's soft and rich, and foresty and incensy. I'm loathe to get rid of it, except that I know it will get more use from someone else.

Incidentally, you are welcome to join in on this order, if you want. Of course shipping stuff from here to the US is $5-7, which is about the cost of shipping direct to you from the Lab, so I don't see a beneficial reason for doing this.
