GILGAMESH

It's decided. I've picked Per Norgard's opera Gilgamesh for my paper. More developments to follow. Music is the only constant in my life. Well...that, and my love of ice cream cones.

It's time to go for a nice walk outside this evening.

Ah, Gilgamesh and his search for immortality. I guess the ancients disliked dying as much as we do.

It would seem that way yes. The opera is very interesting in its set up. The conductor is the sun king and he moves around this giant circle that the three orchestras are placed around. He moves a little bit for each of the six days and seven nights. At one point Gilgamesh must face the Bull of Heaven, which is a trombone player in a black mask who jumps out of the orchestra. After a duel, he rips the trombone slide out, and the Bull is dead.

He ran away quite often indeed. But he had cool theme music. Plus you are running down a bridge after him when the music is first heard...so that makes it even cooler.

I met up with him in FF1 Advance and I kicked his butt...ever so slowly. If I ever feel like it, I might go back into that game and hunt down Ultros. I think he needs a good aurablitz or two.
