we had to watch this stupid video in calculus today...it was the standard deviants. i hate those videos so much! they waste my time by showing things that have no relevance to the task at hand in the name of "entertainment." maybe if they just explained how to do the problem, the video would be much shorter and i could find my own entertainment ( Read more... )

thanks for the congrats. you're correct in saying the official nm scholar money isn't that much (it's a one-time $2,500 grant), but many colleges give some of their own stashes of money to nm finalists...

I shouldn't skim such questions - my instinct was to say D is not like the others because D will motivate people through health reasons while the other three all play on economic ones. Ergo, different people will be motivated to not buy beef. And others may backlash and eat more beef. Ad campaigns could compensate for health issues, anyway. So the effect of it is much harder to predict than the other three. But then, I was a psych major.
