You haven't read The Giver? I read that a long time ago :). It's so cool!
Beauty: A Retelling of the Story of Beauty and the Beast: My sister read that and she liked it.
Briar Rose: my sister read part of that and apparently got bored of it.
The Midwife's Apprentice: Ooh. I read that! All I remember is that she was found in a dung heap?

Again with the brownie points. 10 for Garth Nix, 8 for Yolen and 7 for Mckinley. The Giver is yum. Much yum. Keep this up and I will run out of brownies ;P

The Chosen was... well, I never did have as much love for the real world. I live so often in my head ^^;;

And Sleator, well he always struck me as being full of crack. Not that that is necessarily a bad thing, but crack. Much crack :D

yes, love yolen. my cousin took a whole course on her books in college and now tells me fearsome tales of late-night yolen memorizing and breathing and sleeping and walking yolen....@-@;;
