Anyone been to a wedding lately? I NEED SOME OPINIONS!!!

I'm going to a friend/ex-co-worker's wedding next month. She and the groom are in their early twenties, have a ton of friends, although I'm not certain how many people were actually invited. I mean, we've hung out a bit, partied as each other's houses, etc, but we're not texting-at-1am close, so if I got an invite then I'm assuming the  million ( Read more... )

I thought I drunkenly commented on this last night, but I guess I didn't. Anywho, that dress is beautiful and reasonably priced. I see no reason why you shouldn't get it.

Sweet! Thanks for the thumbs up for the pink dress, because even though I included an edit stating I was going with something in black, I still haven't made any permanent decisions. I mean...it's pink AND poofy! Thanks for your input :D

I can't see the black dress to compare the two, but I think the pink dress is really cute! If it expresses yourself in the way you want and is something would feel comfortable in, I think you should go for it! You seem like you really love the design, which is a definite plus (and might make room so that you'd wear it more than once). It'd help a lot if you could try it on in store and see how you feel about it on. I do agree with you that it could definitely be toned down a bit with a cardigan/coverup of some sort.

I think it'd work out best for the reception, though. At the last two weddings I went to, there was a huge range of styles from jeans and t-shirts (.....) to pieces just shy of prom dresses, lol. The majority wore things that I guess would classify as their "Sunday best".. The girls that stood out the most (but not in a bad way) were kinda retro/pinup-inspired but they looked amazing and fit right in.

I fixed the issue with the link and the dress should be viewable. :) Yeah, this is a really tough call, but I think my instinct is telling me to go with the second dress because the style is almost identical AND if I purchase it in black I can add something new to it and wear it again to the reception. Thank you so much for your input because, yeah, I think I was worried about meeting that happy medium between "Sunday best" and making a big statement.

I would base the attire more off the time of day the wedding is and location of the reception. They both look fine to me but possibly a little over dressed if it's an early afternoon wedding.

Hmmm...good point, I didn't even consider time of day. The wedding is at 3:00 at a hotel/casino here in Reno so that may work in my favor, lol. Thank you so much!
