terribly tactless terrors.

Well, our “family” of sorts went shopping this weekend, and we went to Kohl’s, where we picked up two empire-waist shirts.  One was for my mom, one for me, and of course, being 25 years younger, I looked better in the shirt.  My mom didn’t look bad either, and I told her that it looked very nice because it looked much better than the clothes she ( Read more... )

My dad likes to justify him telling me I look like a slob (among other things) with "Your dad will tell you things your friends won't." I throw back at him that for fuck's sake, he's my father. My peers are the ones supposed insult me and shittalk about me (which he does to my relatives). Puh.

By vapid, it can also mean emotionally stunted. Emotional intelligence is a pertinent trait too.

Wow. Your parents are carbon copies of mine. My parents say the exact same thing......

I'd like to go to Berkeley or whatever university, study extremely hard and maintain minimal contact, and then as soon as I can completely free myself financially, disappear without a trace. Then show up in TV as an author or artist or something equally unconventional. That would be GREAT. Just imagining the look on their faces. *joy*

I don't know if it's distressing or comforting to know I'm not alone in this matter (others have voiced similar sentiments).

I know it'd be a can of worms deciding criteria for this, but as but a hypothetical wish, I think parents should need licensees to have kids. Any pair of idiots can make a kid - it takes some real wisdom to raise them.

I'd like to outright shuttle them off to some alternate universe where I don't exist, and I don't have to bother with them in this one. Even if I do get successful, their pride, if any, will sicken me, and moreover they'll probably start saying I have no excuse what with all the money I have not to take care of them when they get older. Bah.

Oh, and don't get me started on logical fallacies. They're like a playbook for my parents' rationales. Gah.
