yea japan is very very exclusive. lucky for us dbsk is korean...=). but you know, the only country that isn't exclusive is the U.S. and Canada. Everywhere else discrimination runs rampant. and it's only SPECIFIC parts of the country...like coastal city areas.

I think I mentioned it before, but you're a step ahead in being Asian, but a step back in being Chinese/not being even a drop Japanese period :/

There's the off chance you could be seen as being naively Japanese, ie: you're in the club already. And not that WWII sentiments remain strong from WWII, they had to come from somewhere, and may persist to this day, if only subtly (possibly dishearteningly).

There definitely are Japanese people who are accepting of foreigners and the idea of a non-native speaker talking their language, but they are not among many :\

Look up some blogs about people teaching English in Japan (or even just living) and you'll get an idea. You'll see the same things across various sources.

You might not want to lecture someone who is intimately familiar with sentiments between Japan and China.

And you also might want to watch your wording when talking to someone who might be younger than you, but not necessarily more ignorant.
