Oh hun, that's terrible. Especially if you have insurance, who really shouldn't be trying to screw you over. That's utterly despicable.

I knooow. I don't really get along with my dad, but it made me really mad on his behalf. Unfortunately I'm really bad with bureaucratic anythings where the system is designed to screw you, I just don't have the knowledge or authoritative...stuff. I was actually listening in to one of those phone calls and I could hear from his responses the way the other person was working him over, and I had the strong feeling that person knew what they were doing and was doing it quite on purpose. I can recognize evil bastardry, but I can't yet defeat it.

SOOOOB MOMMY YOUR CAR! ;A; I am glad your mom is okey, but the car! And the deer! wtf, that is a lot of damage from deer.

I think you can try the insurance anyway! Just inquire, mommy, and see if they will offer you any deals that may not actually screw you over.

Sadly daddy, deer do lots of damage to cars. It may seem surprising, but they have some mass to them and when you hit them at that speed...well. As it was we were pleased the engine block was not harmed. They still have nothing on moose though, which our northern brothers and sisters get.

We can inquire with the insurance, but I am not overly hopeful. But thank you, daddy.

... A-Amber...

Is it really insensitive of me to ask if the deer is okay

<3 No of course not! The first thing we did was go check on the deer. My mom didn't stop because she was freaked out and afraid if she turned the car off it wouldn't start again.

When she drove off it was lying still on the side of the road and she thought it was dead. When we returned, there was no sign of it. It happened near a creek where dense brush, willow, blackberries and wild roses grow pretty much right to the side of the road, so since it was night there was no way of seeing it if it went back up in there.

I love my AAA, but this one not so much. I know it's legally required, but honestly I feel like you'd come out way ahead if you were just putting that amount away into the bank each month.
