For various reasons I am not having the best week, but knowing that Turtles Forever, aka the Ninja Turtle Crossover Of Awesome, is airing on Saturday makes it so much better. *anticipates with glee*
So it's like this. In the '80s, there was a Ninja Turtle cartoon. You probably know that one--pizza, Krang, Donatello does machines, etc. Then, in 2003, they made a second cartoon, which was a lot more serious, and drew heavily from the original black & white Ninja Turtle comics. It was great, and it just ended this year. So, this year being the turtles' 25th anniversary, somebody apparently said, "You know what would be a great anniversary special? We should have the characters from these shows team up!" And then, just because they loved me fans of the TMNT comics, they added "Also, we should get the comics characters in there somewhere," which is what's going on with the black & white bits of the trailer. That's the premise; I have no idea about the plot, but I assume it involves interdimensional rifts and beating up on Shredder(s).
(And man, all this twenty-fifth anniversary stuff gives me visions of turning fifty and being reminded of it all year by EXCITING CARTOON ANNIVERSARIES!)
It does, doesn't it? That is a shiny shiny trailer! Cosmic battles and fanservice for all!

But you would be consoled by still having all these awesome cartoons! ...no?
(I think there is a reasonable chance Transformers will still be around when both of us turn 50, although I wouldn't put money on it or anything. Ninja Turtles...yeah, not so much.)
I nearly missed it myself, but fortunately Fandom Lounge was there for me. Now I pass on my knowledge of ninja terrapins to all who will hear! Because how sad would it be, to miss this?
