I know I've read that one because I adored Uhura as a kid/teen and I remember that I read it, but I don't have any memory of if it was any good. Because I was completely uncritical when it came to books about Uhura :)

I think I've still got it on the shelf downstairs...maybe I'll reread it at some point.

It apparently features a Uhura romance, lots of Klingons, and ultra-powerful psychic alien whales who weep crystal tears. Or something like that.
