...or, how trying to dispose of your old comics is more emotionally difficult than you might think.

Mostly interesting to me, but it amused me to write it down )

Dying of lulz here, and I don't even know most of these comics XD That moment when we realize our fandoms own us, not the other way around...

Oh yes. Get rid of comics just because they're taking over my apartment and I haven't read most of them in years? They will not have it! ...and they're making a pretty convincing case.

I had a similar week, with less entertaining internal dialogue.

However, getting rid of the box with Identity Crisis/Infinite Crisis/etc. and all its toxic spawn was the best thing I did all week.

Alpha Flight is on my list to go. GL (Hal) and GA (Ollie) were booted, though I kept Connor and Kyle issues for now. ALL MY X-BOOKS WILL GO next time, I am resolved. ALL OF THEM.

Legion, otoh, never. There is no cure for that.

I'm still fond of the Owen-and-Digger sections of Identity Crisis, but not enough to keep it, no indeed. And I am literally ripping Countdown issues into little pieces, because it is bad and should feel bad.

I dumped basically everything that Hal starred in (except Hard Traveling Heroes, because history okay) and I feel a little guilty about it, because '80s GREEN LANTERN is better than most of Kyle's run, but I'm never going to read it again and have no deep emotional connections, so out it goes. Kyle and Connor are staying, natch.

I have two full longboxes of Legion books, and except for a couple token one-shots, I didn't even make an effort at pulling issues. LSH ought to be a controlled substance.
