Cornell: My dad's (best friend/undergrad advisor)'s son went there because he was really into birds, but he didn't get to do nearly as much with the ornithology lab as he wanted. It might help that you've done the summer internship bird thing.

The supplements usually don't matter that much, especially if they're the "why Cornell" type. The other essay will be more important, esp. since it's longer. "Why our school" just wants to see that you've learned a couple of facts about their school other than what's in the 2-page pamphlet thingy.

Ithaca's a nice town though. Lots of hippie type people, very relaxed and liberal seeming kind of place. Not urban by any stretch of the imagination, but I like it a lot.

You should definitely apply to Reed. You should have stretch schools. Don't settle for less without trying. Not that you wouldn't be happy other places, but try and see, you know?

College in general is better than high school. I think you'll be happy.

*huggle* I miss you muchly. Paint! So, hampshire is off the list and Umass is on? Umass has a great variety of classes and if you want to get off campus you can take classes at any of the five colleges. Apply anywhere you want, you never know, you could get in. Supplements aren't that bad.

*huggles* I'm sorry I've been off the map lately xD
Good luck with your first day! You probably won't get this until you get home though (and I totally understand the suitcase issue).
I'm glad that you're applying to some really big stretch schools! Believe me, essays are majorly important. I had an amazing essay for CU and it got me in (it must have, that and the pot that everyone seems to smoke there xD) cause god know's my grades were nothing special...
