It's such a good thing that children aren't aware of the lion's share of what awaits them as they march toward adulthood.  Oh sure, there's the simple fact that trying to sit a child down to explain the vast and complicated concepts of life just wouldn't click by virtue of their sheer innocence.

lol, I'd been meaning to snag a PSP Slim before the relationship fell to tatters, but when it did that was one of the first things that crossed my mind. Material indulgence! That'll take the edge off! ^_^

So far it's not been terribly exciting, because most of the games I'm amped up about aren't out just yet (Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions, Dracula X Chronicles, etc.) but soon!

It's a shame you're not here in Oregon, we could totally ad-hoc multiplay together, haha. Maybe when Smash Bros comes out in December we can verrry slowly brawl against each other! :)

A line you placed resonated with me, "he didn't have the ability or desire to examine himself and simply grow as a human being by exercising patience, sacrifice, etc." I can say much of the same with a partner of 5 years I left back in NYC (before moving to Maui)

I find that being in a relationship legitimates one's baggage, and so it takes even more effort to process constructively.
