question for pet owners

Does anyone use a automatic food release dispenser for your pet? I need to buy one for my cat, Sneauxball, and I've just been looking over the PetSmart website and they show a couple which get mostly good reviews. One is a 2 meal timer released one that costs $ 35.99 and the other is a 5 meal timer released one that costs $ 53.99. Are these things

I've never bothered to get one because if it malfunctions my cat won't have food for the rest of the time! I just leave a couple bowls out heaped with food. Cats are pretty good at self-feeding and will usually just munch a few bites here and there.

Thanks Danielle! For the first time in 9 years I'm thinking about leaving Sneauxball home alone for 2-3 days rather than boarding him. It's traumatic for both him and me when I uproot him even for a short trip out of town. Recently he's been my roommate in hotels a couple of times and he dosen't do very well overall. He cries most of the time in the car and he hides behind beds or whatever furniture is available in the hotel room at the least little bit of noise. I am worried that the automatic food thing might malfunction but Sneauxball will eat any food I put in front of him. He dosen't grasp the concept of save some for later lolo. Weird cat. So that's why I was considering one of those thing- a- ma -jigs.

i've seen on skymall they have those dispensers equipped with cameras so you can watch live feed off the internet anytime! lol, its really cool but skymall is so expensive/overpriced :(

aw, poor sneauxball. hope you find a good one that works for you. (i'm actually leaving for a few days next week and leaving my brother in charge of paris and rory and i'm still getting a little worried, LOL).

Thanks Dina! I didn't know about camera dispensers. How are Rory and Paris? If you have any recent pictures will you post some?
