Riddle of Epicurus

If God is willing to prevent evil, but is not able to
Then He is not omnipotent.

If He is able, but not willing
Then He is malevolent.

If He is both able and willing
Then whence cometh evil?

If He is neither able nor willing
Then why call Him God?

I have always thought of it like this: There is not just one god, but many. Some are what we would consider 'good' and some 'evil' as well as some that are more neutral. What appears to be good to one person may be pure evil in the eyes of another and vice versa. The best that we can do is slosh through the mire of our existances and try not to squish too much between our toes...

No answers to any of those, so sorry.

But you know, I've always entertained the thought that in the hearts of all men and women we know what we are supposed to do. At the same time, perhaps true goodness is lost on us.

If this life is only a short temporary thing, then no pain is too great to endure in it.

Or maybe not.
