i think i know who you're talking about & in that case, i know exactly what you mean. i'm still bitter about it, but at least i don't think about it everyday at this point.
i also know what it's like to have people pretend that yr mom is not sick. only, in my case, it's family. the blakeleys are fucking crazy, let me tell you. everything went downhill after my grandfather died.
There are defining moments in our lives. There comes a time when we have to conciously decide, "Today is what matters, not yesterday, not last year, not any of it." It doesn't do anyone any good to live in the past, to feel the things that hurt us. While we may never forget things that were or were not said, or done or not done, we can not let them control who we are today. i know that i am scarce, although i hope that i have been able to make a small impact for positivity in your life in the little i have been around.
sometimes being sad is okay, and especially when you've been hurting for so long. it's definatly the first step into getting over your sadness - to just be sad for a bit.
although i know you've been sad and in pain for a while, so maybe this recognition, can be the stepping stone into making things better.
you're a good person, and you need to just forget about the lousy ones around you. don't give them the power to hurt you. (so much easier said then done.)
you will find other good people, and when you do make sure you suck up what they can give you. stop trying to give away to people who will only take and never give back. stop trying to be what they want of you, and just be who you are - and fuck them if they don't want it.
