This has got to be the most intense chapter yet. I've been reading through this story voraciously and I'm sorry I didn't comment sooner, but I couldn't as I was so engrossed. I take it that there were pictures of Mark and Ste.

I noticed that this last chapter was posted in November 2014. You mentioned that it was getting easier to write and I was wondering if you've posted this story elsewhere.

I hope you continue as this is absolutely brilliant. And lets face it…something must be done about Thomas. And at the least, Raleigh gets a major ass kicking. Who the hell says those things about a kid who was left for dead?

Hello there,

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment - and that's a great reason for not commenting sooner :)

I couldn't believe how long ago it was I'd last posted - no, I've not been posting elsewhere - but I changed jobs from bookselling one day a week to working 30hrs a week in a totally different organisation, an our and a half's travel from home! I keep waiting to get used to it and get back to writing. Funnily enough, I sat down to do some a day before you commented!

There is another section waiting to be amended and posted, so fingers crossed for that being sooner rather than later.

Thank you again :)

Oh my goodness. I don't even remember now how I came across Blood Rising, but I've just spent the past week reading it. I couldn't put it down. Your writing is so very good: the boys' voices and characters are so authentic, and the plotting and pacing of the story are just perfect. And the emotions -- MY HEART! You've captured so much of the triumphs and failures of being a teenager, the desperation to be your own person and make your own decisions coupled with the frustration and powerlessness of being hostage to the will of adults. Whether you finish this story or not, I really hope you're able to keep writing. You have such a gift for it. Thank you so much for sharing this.

I am not only shoddy at posting Blood Rising regularly, it also appears I'm equally poor at replying to comments in a timely manner! I do apologise, because when I received your comment back in December, it made my month, frankly! I am so very glad you are enjoying it so much - it means a great deal. I AM still writing it, but painfully slowly as real life is nothing like it was when I started this tale :) Thank you xx
