Again, I'm back, for another top ten list.

THE TOP TEN MOVIES OF 2006
(according to me, Gregory Harbin)

10. Clerks II
This movie has to make it on the list. It's, sure, pretty juvenile, but at times, it says some important things about love and especially friends. Rent it some time, it's probably Smith's best film after Chasing Amy.

9. Rocky Balboa
Did I expect this to go on the list? No. But, man, it's well-made. Make fun of the series as much as you want, deride the concept of boxing movies all you want, but this is an uplifting tale and deserves to be recognized.

8. Thank You For Smoking
Honestly, I don't remember this film as well as I should. I really need to pick it up on DVD. I know earlier in the year I really liked it, so here it is. A flawed send-up of American industry.

7. Casino Royale
A Bond movie. Yep. You will not be disappointed by this film. The third act draws on a bit, but, really, I like it, just I could tell everyone around me was gettin bored. I'll be there opening day for the next Craig Bond film.

6. A Prarie Home Companion
Altman's last film. Just pure magic.

5. United 93
This film reminded me about 9/11. Nuff said.

4. V For Vendetta
I saw this nigh on three times in theaters, and it was as powerful every time. Much, much better than the book it's based on.

3. Mission: Impossible III
I was a Tom Cruise fan, I am a J.J. Abrams fan. I am moreso having seen this movie, which I've lovingly dubbed M:IV. The perfect action movie, from beginning to end. I could watch this movie every week and never get bored.

2. Children of Men
One of the best stand-alone films I've ever seen. A technical and artistic achievement of monumental proportions. I'm dying waiting for it to reach theaters in Charlotte.

1. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
Still the best film of 2006. HE...JUMPED...INTO...THE KRACKEN
