The Real Ghostbusters/Abandon All Hope
Okay so tonights episode. Definitely not the best ever. In fact the beginning and such was a little too retro for me. It's one of my major pet peeves about this season. It's the freaking apocalypse. But a lot of the episodes lately have been kind of... comedic? And definitely not really apocalypse focused. I don't think you can go from epic shit like The End to stuff like this. I want angsty drama goddamnit! I love the comedic episodes, don't get me wrong, it just feels like right now is not really the right time for them. I wouldn't mind one or maybe two in a row but we've kind of had four more comedic than apocalypse focused episodes in a row. And the cases. They're very season 1 esque. The kind of things I would not be expecting right now. Maybe I'm just picky but if they're going to have a lot of non apocalypse eppies they should at least have cases that aren't kind of n00bish. Is a vampire or ghoul or something a long those lines too much to wish for?
Anyways the rest of the episode was pretty good. Those two guys, Damien and Barnes I think their names were, they were AWESOME. It was sorta cool to see the geeks save Dean and Sam's asses for once. And omg, Chuck/Becky!!! As soon as he brought her the Yellow Eyes drink I knew they'd end up together. They're my new perfect geeky OTP. And badass!Chuck. That made my night. I love him so him being badass was like... awesome. Becky just like totally doing the cheesy cartoon thing and falling in love with him on the spot sorta was pretty awesome too xD
The ending was definitely the best part of the episode for me though. That shot of Dean leaning on the Impala was like so retro it my brain exploded. He looked so freaking hot. And he was even wearing the leather jacket in this episode!! But he didn't have his necklace :(
Cas better bring that back soon. I miss it. And the thing with Crowley. Holy shit. I have to say Kripke, you're a freaking genius. That's so sneaky. Of course the boys wouldn't think to read the books even though they might have leads in them about the Colt or whatever. And having Becky tell them was just awesome and pretty perfect. It's been like two years since we last saw the Colt and considering how essential it used to be to the plot I'm glad it's coming back.
BUT THE PROMO. HOLY SHIT. I cannot wait for next week! I'm like shaking with excitment! It reminded me a bit of No Rest For The Wicked but that episode was a bit fail and hopefully this one will be WAY better. AND DEAN/JO. In case you didn't know I pretty much ship Dean with everyone under the sun but I like Dean/Jo a lot. Almost more than Dean/Cas or Wincest. I'm pretty bummed that odds are Jo and Ellen will die but if her and Dean get one last hurrah before she dies I guess I could live with that. It's not like I didn't expect it. She's a supporting character AND a girl. It's a miracle she's survived this long.
