I went to DC on Friday all by myself and using only public transit. I went to visit a place called the National Building Musem, it focuses on things like urban planning and architecture. An itinerary and pictures can be found under the cut.
My journey started out at a bus stop. But I didn't take any pictures of it.Though I did take pictures of the subway station that I rode the bus to.
After that I got off at the State Center/Cultural Center Subway Station. Then I transferred to the Light Rail. In case your not aware Baltimore's subway and light rail systems do not meet each other. So I had to walk several blocks in order to get to the light rail station. After I got to the light rail station I took the light rail to Penn Station so I could pick up the MARC train to DC. Here is a picture of Penn Station .
So then I rode the MARC train to Union Station in DC. Here are some pics. It's a bit more busier than Penn Station.
A cop saw me taking pictures of this and he looked at me like I had two heads.
After leaving Union Station I walked to The National Building Museum. On the way there I passed by this:
Maybe it's a sign of what is to come (yeah right)
So then after walking around in circles a few times I made it to the National Building Museum.
After I went to the National Building Museum I then took the subway back to Union Station. It was only one stopped and I could have easily walked back. But I was tired and since I was talking so many different forms of transit. I figured that I just had to take the DC Metro as well.
