So it turns out that lots of people like to hang-out at the Santa Monica beach and pier on a Sunday afternoon in the Summer. Julie and I spent more time just looking for a parking spot than we actually did bumming around the beach and pier. The dippin' dots made the trip worth it. Good times. We just drove up Pacific Coast Highway to get there

Ah, I see you've discovered Monroe Acres. Developed in the late 1930's by Johnathan Sikes Monroe, the entire neighborhood is a testament to the man's ardent belief that if he could have enough streets named after him, he would somehow ascend to lesser godhood, and be able to cure his particularly nasty case of debilitating foot fungus, forever.
