The Torah versus People Magazine
I've found a new book to read during my lunch breaks at work: the Torah. So far it has read like a rambling children's fable, filled with contradictions, repeated ideas, and written with broad strokes (not too much in the way of details, unless they happen to be of the trivial sort). Apparently translating Hebrew can be tricky.
Though they shoudl have gotten all the kinks out of a english version by now.
I had the same issues every time I try to read the bible. 3 or 4 tries now?

(Hmmm maybe I should take a look at the other major religuos texts.)
