Today marks my 9 year anniversary with my current company. I don't know if that is a good or a bad thing. I still like it here, I guess. One more year, and I get a gift for the 10-year mark. Unless I bolt to make more money elsewhere.
Pros to Bolting: 1. More money, maybe 2. New job, so I may actually like work again 3. Can actually use more of my skills in a new job.
Cons: 1. Giving up the above average benfits for working here 2. Giving up 25 days of vacation a year. 3. Losing 9 years of seniority and becoming the low man on the totem pole again. 4. I may have to give up teaching and coaching, both of which I enjoy.
