*Disturbed by the powerful ritual magic being performed in the house, Thorn lingers at the door, hesitant to go in, but worried for his employer. Restless, he paces just outside the door on the crutches, and the soft, rythmic tapping of it may eventually break through into Anna's notice...*

Anna twitched, snarling a second later. Her face relaxed, mewling some as her mind worked to obtain a normal expression that wouldn't change two seconds later. The woman pulled herself into a stand, hair falling over her face and shoulders to half hide her features. Turning dully, Anna let blaring orange eyes fall on Thorn. Dark watery lines had streamed down her cheeks, collecting at her pale chin.

Her eyes douse in intensity, brows ducking back in a sorrowful wince. A staggering step takes backwards, putting just that much more space between them, though it pained her to have to do such to a friend. A shakey hand raises to her cheeks, sweeping away the dark watery lines from her face. His question brings nothing but a simple lie as she nods, attempting a smile that was far weaker than than she'd ever given him.
